Main areas of practice and author profil
As an attorney at ROSE & PARTNER Rechtsanwälte Steuerberater PartGmbB, I advise family businesses and private clients on all tax law matters from our Berlin office in Germany. My practice focuses in particular on inheritance and gift tax, business succession, foundation law, as well as issues relating to charitable status and complex tax structuring.
A key element of my expertise is the taxation of property. I assist clients with the tax-optimised planning and structuring of real estate assets – both private and business-related. This includes, in particular, the tax-neutral transfer of real estate, the integration of property-holding companies into succession plans, and the valuation and optimisation of real estate structures within the context of asset and business succession.
In addition, I have extensive experience in the establishment of family foundations in Germany. I advise on the strategic use of foundations as a tool for the long-term, tax-optimised preservation of family assets, for succession planning and business succession, and for the control of corporate structures. In doing so, I assist with both the establishment and implementation of bespoke foundation concepts and their tax planning under German tax law.
Another key focus of my work is advising asset management companies in Germany.
I would be happy to assist you with all tax-related matters concerning business and asset succession, as well as with the tax-optimised structuring of business, family and asset arrangements. Working closely with you, I will safeguard your business and assets for future generations and develop a succession plan that is legally and fiscally optimised – including a forward-looking structure for real estate, trusts and companies.
Education
I completed my german law degree at the Faculty of Law of the University of Augsburg and at George Washington University in Washington, D.C. Following my law studies in Augsburg, where I specialised in tax and company law, I completed my doctoral thesis under Prof. Dr Gregor Kirchhof, LL.M. (Notre Dame), at the Chair of Public Law, Financial Law and Tax Law, focusing on issues of constitutional and tax law in Germany.
During my subsequent legal clerkship in Augsburg and Munich, I completed placements at leading german law firms specialising in tax law with a focus on family businesses and private clients.
After passing my second state examination, I initially worked as an attorney at a renowned law firm specialising in wealth succession and private clients. In this role, I assisted clients with the tax-optimised structuring of corporate and family arrangements, particularly with regard to inheritance tax issues affecting family businesses and the specific requirements of high-net-worth families, foundations and non-profit organisations in Germany. When I subsequently moved to Berlin in 2025 due to personal reasons, I took on the role of head of tax policy within an association of german family business owners, alongside my practice as a self-employed attorney. In this role, I was entrusted with the task of presenting complex tax issues in an accessible manner, engaging in dialogue with political stakeholders, and providing advisory support on legislative proposals concerning the taxation of family businesses in Germany.
Through my professional career, I have gained extensive insight into the legal, business and personal issues that a generational transition entails. In Germany, inheritance tax strikes at the most perilous moment for a business – I am keen to support my clients at this juncture with my expertise and empathy, and to ensure the long-term survival of the business.
Personal
In my spare time, I find balance mainly through reading and sporting activities. I particularly enjoy hiking and trips into the countryside, as well as travelling, which I prefer to do with my partner. Having grown up in the Bavarian Alpine foothills, I love the local Alps just as much as faraway places, so my personal interests also include issues relating to international relations and international understanding.
