Expertise and Practice
The focus of Bernfried Rose’s practice is advising on the structuring of private inheritance and business succession. Together with Kristin Winkler (Certified Inheritance Law Specialist) and Dr. Cécile Walzer, Bernfried is responsible for the fields of inheritance law, pension law, business succession, and foundations.
Since successfully completing his theoretical training as a Certified Inheritance Law Specialist in 2005, he has dedicated his practice almost exclusively to inheritance law clients.
He is a certified will executor and has been a mediator recognized by the Hanseatic Law Association since completing his training in 2009. He uses the techniques of alternative conflict management in his work as an attorney to benefit his clients.
Bernfried is from Westphalia, where his family operates an agricultural and forestry real estate business, now in its fourth generation. After completing secondary school and training as a banker in Düsseldorf, he studied economics at the Open University of Hagen and law at the Universities of Gießen and Cologne.
Following his first state law examination, he obtained a master’s degree in international law at the University of Cape Town and worked as a travel journalist.
His legal clerkship led him, among other places, to the Postgraduate School of Administrative Sciences in Speyer and the German embassy in Katmandu, Nepal.
After his second state law examination, he was admitted to practice law in Germany and, after a short time as a private attorney, made his dream of starting his own law firm a reality by founding the law firm of ROSE & PARTNERS with some of his colleagues.
