Expertise und Practice

Dr. Jens Nyenhuis is partner of our law firm and based in our Hamburg office. He advises clients in the fields of corporate and commercial law including M&A as well as in matters of banking regulatory law, insolvency law and property law. Jens also represents his clients on a regular basis in legal proceedings especially relating to the aforementioned areas.

Jens is a certified specialist in commercial and corporate law and advises entrepreneurs and companies comprehensively around their undertakings. This includes all corporate and commercial law matters including M&A as well as the areas of business succession, restructuring, financing and distribution. Jens is also experienced in advising financial service providers with regard to regulatory matters. In insolvency law he consults and represents the management and other corporate bodies as well as insolvency administrators.

Jens has also studied abroad and assists German and international clients during their outbound and inbound business activities.

Background

Jens has studied law in at the Universities of Hamburg and Cologne. He also spent one year at the Unversity of Bordeaux as an Erasmus scholar. After passing first state law examination he went to South Africa and obtained a master’s degree from the University of Cape Town having written a thesis on the South African Truth and Reconciliation Commission.

Following his articles in Düsseldorf Jens wrote a doctoral thesis with Prof. Dr. Heribert Hirte, LL.M. (Berkeley) of the University of Hamburg on takeovers of listed companies in the United Kingdom and Germany.

Jens started his professional career working in the Corporate/M&A department of Luther Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft mbH in Stuttgart. He then went back to his home town Hamburg and worked at the law firm Dr. Matzen & Partner focussing on corporate and restructuring law issues. Later Jens worked for Kolaschnik Partner Rechtsanwälte PartGmbB where he additionally gained experience in the fields of business successions, banking regulatory and property law and was engaged in various litigations.

Jens joined ROSE & PARTNER in 2017.
