Expertise and Practice

Attorney Thomas Repka provides comprehensive advice in the areas of IT law and data protection law in Germany. Another focus of his work is Internet and media law.

He accompanies IT projects, especially for commercially active clients in Germany. One focus is on the drafting and review of IT contracts, such as software license agreements, contracts for software creation or project contracts and provider agreements, as well as in the area of IT litigation. In the field of data protection law, he advises german companies, online retailers and Internet service providers on the legal requirements for data protection within the company and for their Internet presence. One of his main areas of practice is advising on the General Data Protection Regulation and representing companies in german court proceedings and administrative fine proceedings.

Thomas Repka's activities in german media law and copyright law range from classic press law, photo and film law to support in the multi-media area and social media law.

Another focus of Thomas Repka's work is german real estate law. In particular, he advises on real estate transactions (share and asset deals) from due diligence to contract negotiations. Furthermore, Thomas Repka advises on asset and property management of real estate in Germany. In particular, he assists his clients in drafting and negotiating commercial and residential lease agreements and corresponding addenda as well as property management agreements.

Due to his background in german real estate law, Thomas Repka also provides comprehensive advice on brokerage law and commercial leases (especially logistics leases, hotel leases, and leases for medical practices and pharmacies).

Additional Background

Thomas Repka completed his studies at the University of Hamburg (Germany) with a focus on information and communications law. After his first state examination, he worked in german real estate law at a major international law firm in Hamburg.

Attorney Repka completed his legal clerkship at the Higher Regional Court of Celle with stations, among others, at the Hamburg Economic Authority and an internationally renowned law firm in the field of intellectual property and competition law. At the same time, he worked as a research assistant in a boutique for trademark, competition and IT law. He completed the second state examination as one of the best in his year in Lower Saxony.

After completing his legal clerkship and admission to the bar in 2018, he joined ROSE & PARTNER. After working in a real estate law boutique in Hamburg and then as a lawyer in Hamburg in the field of IP/IT and data protection law, he returned to ROSE & PARTNER in 2023.

Since 2021, Thomas Repka has been a specialist attorney for IT law.
